Plus, of course, none of it would work without the disc or disc image from the Player, which opens up a host of copyright issues as well. Nintendont does not support the GBA Player, for obvious reasons the logistics of it would involve a completely separate emulation core involving not just the GameCube but also the GBA that is inside the Player AND everything involved in making those two systems talk to each other. Nintendont apparently supports this latter function- so you could get the Tingle bonuses, for instance, or play Four Swords. You could use it to seek out Tingle things in Wind Waker, or if you had four friends who all owned GBAs and the cables AND a copy of Four Swords, you could play one of most collectively expensive titles on the system and get in fights with your closest buddies. The cable had other (limited) uses, of course. If you had the GameCube to GBA cables, you could plug one end of the cables into the Cube and the other end into a GBA and control your GBA Player with your GBA. However, that meant using a GameCube controller, and some people found that less than appealing for GBA games. You put a special disc in the Cube's tray and a cartridge into the Player's cartridge slot and you basically had the GBA equivalent of the Super Game Boy. The Game Boy Player was (is?) an attachment containing essentially a GBA's core that snapped into the GameCube, underneath the system. What is being referred to is different than the cables themselves.
